A Dog-Friendly Haven in the Heart of Peckham

Greetings, fellow dog enthusiasts! If you’re on the lookout for a pawsitively delightful rooftop experience in London, look no further than Bussey Rooftop Bar. Nestled in the iconic Bussey Building on Rye Lane, this hidden gem not only boasts stunning panoramic views but also welcomes our four-legged friends with open arms.

Location and Ambiance

Situated at Block B Rooftop Unit B3.1, The Bussey Building, 133 Rye Lane, London, Bussey Rooftop Bar provides an ideal retreat after a leisurely walk in the nearby Peckham Rye Park. The rooftop’s aesthetic appeal is unparalleled, with decor that seamlessly blends contemporary charm with urban sophistication.

Dog-Friendly Vibes

Our recent visit to Bussey Rooftop Bar left tails wagging and tongues panting (both canine and human). Upon arrival, our furry companions were greeted with water bowls, a thoughtful gesture that didn’t go unnoticed. While we opted for high stools during our stay, the bar could consider adding some ground-level (or more options for lower) seating for our canine pals to fully enjoy the experience.

Cocktails and Cool Treats

As the sun beamed down, we indulged in refreshing cocktails, perfectly crafted for a hot summer’s day. This was accompanied with a delightful batch of Carbonara fries, which were cooked to perfection – During the film I had also ordered pistachio gelato, which was just as enjoyable!

Outdoor Cinema Adventure:

The adventure didn’t end with cocktails and skyline views. Bussey Rooftop Bar hosts a dog-friendly outdoor cinema, courtesy of Rooftop Film Club. We enjoyed a film through sunset and under the stars with Jack by our side, and the thoughtful provision of blankets and headphones ensures that even nervous dogs like Jack can snuggle up and enjoy the experience without any undue stress. Additionally, the option to order food and drinks directly to our seats adds an extra layer of convenience, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable evening for all.

Suggestions for Improvement

While our experience was delightful, we couldn’t help but imagine a few enhancements to make Bussey Rooftop Bar even more dog-friendly. Perhaps a dedicated doggy menu or some pet-friendly treats would be a tail-wagging addition. Regardless, our pups were content with the water bowls and the occasional fuss from the friendly staff.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Bussey Rooftop Bar offers a delightful blend of city chic and canine charm. It’s the perfect spot to unwind after a stroll in Peckham Rye Park, sip on refreshing drinks, and soak in the breathtaking views. While there’s room for improvement in the dog-friendly department, our overall experience was nothing short of fantastic. We’re eagerly awaiting our next visit, and with the outdoor cinema in mind, Bussey Rooftop Bar has secured its place as a go-to destination for both humans and their furry friends. Cheers to more dog-friendly adventures in London!
